DISABILITY INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION (DIF) is a 501 (c) (3) charitable, nonprofit educational organization established in 1991 and growing from local projects to a program thrust of the national YMCA and the BEH Special Projects (1973-1982) with interagency collaboration. DIF's spin-off was a natural outcome of work on disability issues.

DIF provides global awareness, consultation, networking, publications, and training in fostering progress for the inclusion of people with disabilities - children, youth and adults.

DIF's volunteer Board of Directors and Advisory Board are active in promoting aquatics, health and fitness, recreation and camping, faith and disability concerns, and other disability issues from the grass roots level to national concerns and international liaisons. All board members serve as volunteers.

The Goals of DIF are to provide, assist and/or coordinate educational activities and learning experiences; offer training opportunities for individuals affected directly or indirectly by disabilities; provide and coordinate consultation services to individuals, groups and organizations; develop and disseminate materials in support of training; meet other educational, service and employment needs regarding disabilities; and coordinate activities with individuals and groups providing services to those with disabilities.
